The Giver is definitely one of my favorite books. Reading the first parts I had a lot of questions, and a lot were left unanswered, but those are the books I love to read. The books main character Jonas, I found to be a nice boy who didn’t really know what he liked to do. He was quiet and usually kept to himself. He did what he was told to do, when he was told to do it. As the book went on he gained a hatred for the society he lived in and went against everything he used to live for. I seem to enjoy post apocalyptic books, where the main character goes against the government or the society. A big example is the hunger games, my favorite book series. The Hunger Games is my favorite book series because of these factors,so no wonder I liked The Giver. There is only one thing I would’ve liked to see change in the giver, and that is the character development. There was minimal, if any, character development in this book. I had no clue what any of the characters (except maybe the giver) looked like, and I didn’t know many of character’s personalities or thoughts.
